NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
The New Franklin City Council has scheduled a public hearing for WEDNESDAY, MAY 17, 2017 at 6:00 PM to hear and address public comments on the following: Ordinance Number 17-O-01 AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CERTAIN SECTIONS OF THE NEW FRANKLIN ZONING CODE TO SHIFT RESPONSIBILITY FOR CONDITIONAL USE REVIEW AND APPROVAL TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AND DECLARING THAT THIS ORDINANCE SHALL BE EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UPON PASSAGE. The public hearing will be held at the New Franklin City Hall, 5611 Manchester Road, Akron, Ohio 44319. The City of New Franklin is taking applications for open alternate positions on the Board of Zoning Appeals and the Planning & Zoning Commission. Must be a resident of the City with a preferred background in construction, architecture, real estate or related experience. Applications are available at the Administration Office of City Hall during regular office hours. Questions may be answered by the Zoning Department at (330) 882-4611.
NEW FRANKLIN INCOME TAX
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2017, THE INCOME TAX ON ALL RESIDENTS AND BUSINESSES WILL BE 2 %. IN ACCORDANCE WITH RESOLUTION 16-R-26 THE 1981 2.5 MILL CONTINUOUS POLICE LEVY SHALL BE ELIMINATED EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2016 FOR TAX YEAR 2016/COLLECTION YEAR 2017.

The Summit County Public Health Department will be conducting routine inspections of septic systems in the City of New Franklin beginning in March of 2015. All of the Summit County Public Health Department staff will be wearing verifiable identification. Routine inspections of residential septic systems have been ongoing in Summit County since 2004.
